Squirrel Counts in Central Park

This map shows squirrel sightings in Central Park in New York from data collected for the New York Times Squirrel Interactive Map. Each individual squirrel is labeled and shown with a squirrel icon at the location they were observed. The squirrel icon also represents the primary color of the squirrel, gray, cinnamon, or black. The squirrel’s whose primary color is unknown is placed as a purple dot on the map. By clicking on each squirrel, you could see more information about the age range of the squirrel, the squirrel’s individual ID number, and the date they were observed. The map also includes information about the lakes in Central Park. The map will show the area and length of the lake by clicking on a lake. This map, however, is incomplete, and only the lakes colored in yellow are available for this information.
